A flexible screen might not seem much different from a normal flat screen TV, but they are very different. These cheap-to-make, lightweight screens do have something in common with other manufacturing processes and items already on the market. The flexible screens are manufactured using plastic, much in the same way that “thin film” photovoltaics are manufactured. The screens are pretty well 'printed' on to the plastic that protects it. And, of course the principles are the same; the screen has a light source (organic) that illuminates the screen and makes a picture.
